Settings

Configure per-website settings to control how IterOps collects and processes your tracking data.

IP Blacklist

The IP blacklist lets you exclude specific IP addresses from being recorded. Clicks and scroll depth events from blacklisted IPs are silently discarded -- the tracking snippet still runs normally, but the server drops the data before it reaches your dashboard. This is useful for filtering out traffic from your own team, office networks, or staging environments.

Adding an IP to the blacklist

  1. 1

Open your website's dashboard and click the Settings link in the header.

  2. 2

Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address you want to exclude. Optionally add a note (e.g. "Office network" or "Staging server") to help you remember why it was added.

  3. 3

Click Add to Blacklist. The IP takes effect immediately -- any new tracking requests from that address will be discarded.

How it works

Server-side enforcement

Blacklisting is enforced on the server, not in the browser. The tracking snippet continues to send requests as usual, but the API checks the sender's IP against your blacklist before storing anything. Blacklisted requests receive a normal 200 OK response so there is no visible difference to the visitor.

Per-website scope

Each website has its own independent blacklist. Blacklisting an IP on one website does not affect your other websites.

No retroactive filtering

Blacklisting only affects future tracking requests. Clicks and scroll data already recorded from that IP will remain in your dashboard.

Removing an IP

Click the Remove button next to any blacklisted IP to start recording data from that address again. The change takes effect immediately.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my IP address?
Search "what is my IP" in any search engine. If your team uses a VPN or office network, blacklist the VPN or office exit IP to filter all team traffic at once.
Can I blacklist a range of IPs?
Not currently. Each IP address must be added individually. CIDR range support may be added in a future release.
Does blacklisting affect my billing?
Yes. Blacklisted requests are discarded before they count toward your monthly event quota, so filtering internal traffic helps you stay within your plan limits.
Will blacklisted visitors see anything different?
No. The tracking snippet runs normally and receives a standard success response. There is no way for the visitor to tell their data is being discarded.
